7月22日讯美国男篮官宣，两届奥运金牌得主勒布朗-詹姆斯将担任美国奥运代表团开幕式旗手，他也是历史上首个担任奥运旗手的美国NBA球员！
此前，美国曾有两位篮球运动员担任过奥运旗手（皆来自于WNBA），分别是道恩-斯特利（2004年雅典奥运会旗手）和苏-伯德（2021年东京奥运会旗手）。
道恩-斯特利是美国篮球界的名人和领军人物。作为弗吉尼亚大学的优秀校友，她荣获多项奖项，包括在奥运会和世界锦标赛上夺得金牌。斯特利的职业生涯充满荣耀，她还被选为WNBA历史最佳15名球员之一。除了运动员身份，斯特利还是一名成功的教练。从篮球明星到美国国家篮球队主教练，她在领导南卡罗来纳大学的篮球队夺得多个冠军。
苏-伯德是五届奥运会选手和四届奥运会奖牌获得者，是国际篮联世界杯金牌、WNBA冠军和NCAA冠军球员之一。
